Roots

Warm African nights are filled with spirits and wonders beyond finite.
Bats disappear in the dark silhouettes of the baobab trees.
& they whisper in vain that they are disappointed with the terrain.
Hawks cry out a piercing cry,
shape-shifting sorcerers are at work doing all they must to get by.
The sparkling skies of these warm African nights, bring me close
to my home in the stars, and the slithering lizards whisper…
“Know thyself, here you’ll find the root”.
